Nanomedicine is the application of nanotechnology in healthcare. It deals with matter at the nanometer dimension for early stage diagnosis and more effective treatment of diseases. It is an integrated concept involving the chemical, physical, biological, computational and medical sciences. Despite the great promise of this field of study, however, the awareness and applications in Nigeria are still low. This spurred the formation of The Nanomedicine Society of Nigeria (NSN) which was incorporated on 28 March 2012 (Cert. No. 507553). The details of the Society are contained in her website www.nsn.org.ng.
The Nanomedicine Society of Nigeria and the African University of Science and Technology, Abuja are jointly organizing a workshop on Nanomedicine. Areas to be covered are contained in the attached program.
